好好吃饭——爱与恨之歌

看电影的时候想起了巴别尔的《骑兵军》，想起了塞林格的《九故事》，想起了鲍勃•迪伦。

While watching the movie, I was reminded of Babel's Red Cavalry, Salinger's Nine Stories, and Bob Dylan.

很明显了，一部非常好的反战电影，途中几经哽咽。

Clearly, it is an excellent anti-war film; I found myself choking up several times along the way.

开头没多久出现的是父亲随口一句不经心的承诺被女儿问起：“不是说好每年回来一次吗？”“机票多贵啊，过两年就回来了。”

Not long after the beginning, a father's casual, careless promise is questioned by his daughter: "Didn't we agree that you'd come back once a year?" "Air tickets are so expensive, I'll be back in a couple of years."

现实大多数人随着年纪增长也成了这样，好像话说得越多，就越不在乎话语的重量了，透露出一种自己放弃自己的感觉。承诺越来越不像承诺，这两个字几乎已经失去了它的应有之意，不喜欢。

In reality, most people become like this as they grow older, as if the more they talk, the less they care about the weight of their words, revealing a sense of giving up on themselves. Promises look less and less like promises; the word has almost lost its intended meaning. I don't like it.

徐福是那种常见的正面中国北方男人形象，性格大咧，有手艺，勤劳不怕吃苦，很少表露内心真实的情感。而俊生几乎就是理想化的角色了：勇敢、正直、善良、聪明、专一且有爱心。

Xu Fu is that common positive image of a northern Chinese man—rough-and-ready, skilled, hardworking, and rarely showing his true inner emotions. Meanwhile, Junsheng is almost an idealized character: brave, upright, kind, intelligent, devoted, and loving.

餐馆大厨到合伙人的转变，是源于一场战争。也靠着独家酒类许可证，大发了一笔战争财。——人好像很难认清自己到底想要的是什么，有时候已经到了目的地，还是不肯停，于是走得越来越远。

The transition from restaurant chef to partner stemmed from a war. Relying on an exclusive liquor license, they also made a fortune from the war. — Humans seem to find it hard to realize what they truly want; sometimes even when they have reached their destination, they still refuse to stop, and so they wander further and further.

因战争失去父母的孤儿们、在当地执行作战计划的大兵们、拼命挣钱谋财的异国他乡者，以及不被美军支持的本地政府官员，都在这个餐馆里，展示出战争的每一面。

Orphans who lost their parents in the war, soldiers executing combat plans locally, foreigners desperately trying to make money, and local government officials not supported by the US military are all in this restaurant, showing every side of the war.

老扎遭遇的伏笔早早就埋下了，这一关键的转变节点应该就是电影对战争表达的开始了。

The foreshadowing of what happens to Old Zha was laid early on; this key turning point should be where the movie begins to express its stance on war.

认为那些孤儿是天生的恐怖分子的美国大兵，他们的家人朋友就是在各种各样的恐怖袭击中失去生命，所以即使是一个全副武装的美国大兵，看到孤儿投来的凝视，心理防御机制立刻激活，无法保持理性。

To the American soldiers who believe those orphans are born terrorists, their own family and friends lost their lives in various terrorist attacks. So even for a fully armed American soldier, seeing the gaze cast by an orphan immediately activates their psychological defense mechanism, making it impossible to remain rational.

在战争中失去父母的孤儿们，在战地餐馆为包括这些大兵在内的顾客提供美味佳肴。不过，稍有冲突火星，心中的仇恨火药毫无保留地即刻被点燃。

Orphans who lost their parents in the war serve delicious food to customers, including these soldiers, in a battlefield restaurant. However, at the slightest spark of conflict, the gunpowder of hatred in their hearts is instantly ignited without reservation.

他们的恨毫无虚假。

Their hatred is absolutely real.

赛夫一次又一次被徐福和俊生从悬崖边上拉回来，赛夫每次说懂了的时候，他们都会说：“你懂了个屁。”徐福和俊生是战争的经历者，但不是相关方。他们与赛夫之间的情感就显得更纯粹了，赛夫真的懂这一点，所以会救他们，哪怕牺牲自己。

Saif is pulled back from the edge of the cliff again and again by Xu Fu and Junsheng. Every time Saif says he understands, they say, "You don't understand shit." Xu Fu and Junsheng are people who experienced the war, but they are not stakeholders. The affection between them and Saif appears purer; Saif really understands this, which is why he would save them, even at the cost of his own life.

除了老扎在生意上带来的帮助，老扎对女儿的爱也触动着每次吃饭都会将家人照片放在眼前的徐福。给老扎女儿做喜欢吃的食物以及给老扎喂饭的那句“张嘴”，就是徐福表达情感的方式了，老扎也懂。

In addition to the help Old Zha brings to the business, Old Zha's love for his daughter also touches Xu Fu, who places photos of his family in front of him every time he eats. Making the food Old Zha's daughter likes and telling Old Zha to "open your mouth" while feeding him is Xu Fu's way of expressing emotion, and Old Zha understands it too.

这些爱也全部都是真的。

These acts of love are all real, too.

恐怖分子利用仇恨教育、宗教信仰来给无知懵懂的孩童洗脑。生长在乱世与仇恨之中的小孩，即使仅仅旁听到了，也会受到蛊惑。若非亲眼所见熟悉的人被送走当做炮灰，而他本人出发时还以为自己将成为一个勇于反抗的英雄，赛夫恐怕难以认清自己是在被什么驱动。

Terrorists use hatred education and religious beliefs to brainwash ignorant, innocent children. Children growing up amidst chaos and hatred will be misled even if they only overhear it. Had he not seen with his own eyes a familiar person being sent away as cannon fodder—when he himself had set off thinking he would become a hero of the resistance—Saif would probably have found it hard to realize what was driving him.

无知孩童懵懂的心可以被仇恨教唆蒙上黑纱，真诚的爱意自然可以将它揭下。闻到了美味的烩饭便会开心地说好香。而一个成年人主动把心灵放在无尽的仇恨中时，真诚的爱意起到的作用便是——“张嘴”。

The innocent hearts of ignorant children can be coaxed by hatred to wear a black veil, and sincere love can naturally lift it. Smelling the delicious risotto, they will happily say it smells so good. But when an adult actively places their soul in endless hatred, the role sincere love plays is—"open your mouth."

这个世界可以粗略分为两种，一种是掌握暴力机器的人眼中的世界，这里利益至上，个人情感包括生命即使被考虑了也只是附属品。另一个世界就是我们每个普通人的世界，这里充满了爱恨情仇。幸运的是，我们自己可以选择。

This world can be roughly divided into two: one is the world in the eyes of those who control the apparatus of violence, where interests are paramount, and personal emotions, including life, are just accessories even if they are considered. The other world is the world of each of us ordinary people, which is full of love, hatred, passion, and enmity. Fortunately, we can make our own choice.
